Banana & Strawberry Oatmeal Recipe
Start your day strong with this super delicious whole grain, banana and strawberry oatmeal. Rich in carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins, antioxidants and minerals. Great for breakfast, lunch or even as an afternoon snack, in case you do intermittent fasting.
This recipe is for one person. Feel free to replace the strawberries and/or bananas with your favourite fruits (apples, blueberries, raspberries etc.), add nuts, replace honey with maple sirup or whatever you prefer.
Preparation Time: 5 min
Ingredients:
1 cup quick oats
1½ cup rice, oat or almond milk
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp LSA (=Linseed, Sunflower Seed and Almond Mix)
½ tsp cinnamon
1 banana
4 strawberries
1 tbsp honey
Preparation:
1a) Stovetop: Bring the milk to a boil in a small saucepan, then reduce the heat to low and add in the oats, chia seeds, LSA and cinnamon. Frequently stir the mixture and cook until the oats and chia seeds have absorbed all the liquid.
1b) Microwave: Alternatively, put all these 5 ingredients (for this method, use 1 cup of milk instead of 1½) into a bowl and heat in the microwave (without a cover) on high for about 80 seconds.
2) While you are waiting or in between stirring, cut the banana and strawberries into small slices or cubes.
3) Once the oats are cooked and have a smooth creamy texture, add the fruits and honey to your oatmeal bowl and enjoy!
